Just got home and took a stroll around Baidu’s Webmaster Platform, where I discovered that Baidu has released a structured data plugin for WordPress sites.

What is the Structured Data Tool? To put it simply, it’s Baidu’s entry point for quality structured data. With the increasing variety of resource types and richer content on the internet, Baidu Webmaster Platform launched the Structured Data Tool to present users with richer search results while giving website content more appropriate display formats and improving click-through rates. To make things easier for WordPress users, Baidu also released a corresponding WordPress structured data plugin.

Installing the structured data plugin enables fast and comprehensive submission of your site’s pages and content to Baidu. It helps Baidu Spider better understand your website for improved indexing. For quality data resources, structured snippet styles can optimize how your site appears in Baidu’s search results. Initially, Baidu only provided this plugin for Discuz! users, but today they’ve developed one for WordPress as well — a testament to WordPress’s importance. The Discuz! and WordPress structured data plugins share essentially the same functionality.

• Auto-submits Sitemaps for optimized content indexing. The structured data plugin crawls historical URL data from forum post pages and automatically generates a sitemap for submission to Baidu.

2. Extract it to your WordPress wp-content/plugins directory
3. Go to the admin panel, activate the plugin, and verify your site address
4. Check submission history via the plugin settings page under “Recent Submission History”
